Japan Airlines is now providing free inflight WiFi across all domestic routes.

The Oneworld member and Qantas partner previously charged passengers ¥400 (A$4.70) for a quick 30 minutes or between ¥500 (A$5.90) to ¥1200 (A$14.15) to stay connected throughout the entire flight, depending on the length of the flight and the type of device you’re using.

But no more: JAL’s sky-high WiFi service is now free of charge on the airline’s domestic network, and available from five minutes after take-off until five minutes before landing.

Domestic flights operated by JAL subsidiary JTA (Japan Transocean Air) are also included in the free surf-fest.
